‘A whopping 325 teams from 60 schools participated in the mega contest; winners walk away with laptops’

Bangalore, November 8, 2014: Cycle Pure Agarbathies, world’s largest incense stick manufacturer, recently organized the much awaited Cycle Heritage Quiz-2014, the only quiz in the country that focuses on the rich heritage of the country at Bangalore. The competition held in Bangalore for the second time, was conducted at Kuvempu Kalashektra, Bangalore. Renowned film director Nagsekhar graced the event as chief guest.

One of the most anticipated contests, the quiz show saw around 325 teams from 60 schools battling it out at the preliminary round. The participants were quizzed on the heritage, epics, mythology, traditions, culture, customs and many more topics. After the preliminary round 6 teams were chosen for the grand finale. The finals were a closely contested competition with all the teams fighting neck and neck to win the title. Apart from trophies the winners were awarded with Netbooks, Digital Cameras and other exciting prizes.

The initiative is an attempt by Cycle Pure Agarbathies to play an active part in preserving India’s tradition and heritage. The first edition of the quiz was held in Kolkata in 2011.Owning to the overwhelming response, two more cities were added in 2012. This year Cycle heritage quiz will be conducted in Kochi, Chennai, Coimbatore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mysore, Bhubaneswar, Gauhati, Indore apart from Bangalore, making it a national event in its true sense. An ardent believer of sustainable and holistic growth, Cycle Pure Agarbathies has organized several interesting campaigns that have benefited the society in a large way. Attempts at reviving traditional art forms like Dhak (drums played during Durga puja )through a competition called Rhythm Dhaker Ladai in West Bengal andSheri Garbhain Gujarat has been hugely successful with a great number of youngsters learning more about these art forms.
