Selected candidates to represent Mysuru Warriors in KPL 2016


Bangalore, August 02, 2016:  In line with its vision to nurture sporting talent in the hinterlands of Karnataka, NR Group, the owners of Mysuru Warriors announced that they will be holding a Talent Hunt in Bangalore on 4th August 2016.  Dates for Talent Hunt in Mysuru will be announced shortly.


Names of players selected in the Talent Hunt will be recommended to be included in the auction. The event is especially for players from Karnataka. Talent Hunt is aimed at fostering cricketing talent and will provide an opportunity for players to enter the professional cricketing arena. The selected players will get a chance to represent Mysuru Warriors and play at the upcoming Karbonn Smart KPL 2016 powered by Cycle Pure Agarbathies.


Speaking about the Talent Hunt, Mr. Arjun Ranga, Owner, Mysuru Warriors said, “NR Group has always believed in nurturing talent in sports, be it cricket or any other sports.  We are proud to host the talent hunt and it is a pleasure to give players a chance to represent Mysuru Warriors.  Through this Talent Hunt, we intend to spot good cricketers and provide them a platform to grow and prove themselves.”


Last year 5 players were selected from a similar talent hunt and they went on to hitch a mark for themselves in the state cricket team arena. Mysuru Warriors Captain Mr. Manish Pandey has carved a niche for himself in the international cricket arena. Mr. J. Suchith one of the key players of Mysuru Warriors team was instrumental in the winning of Mumbai Indian team.

The camp begins at 1 pm and players from registered club under KSCA will compete at the selection process. The players are advised to carry with them their KSCA statistics of last two years and their kits.  Ball will be provided.


Modelled on the lines of IPL, the 20-20 tournament is organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and will witness competition between 8 teams. Started in 2009, the Karnataka Premier League is now in its fifth season which will commence on September 16, 2016. The first phase of the tournament will be hosted at Mysuru followed by Hubbli. The finals will be held in Hubbli.
