Ujjain, 22nd April 2016: Cycle Pure Agarbathies, the largest manufacturer of agarbathies in India gave away over 1.25 lakh eco-friendly carry bags along with other pooja essentials to devotees at the Simhasth Kumbha Mahaparv here. This was carried out to spread the message to save the environment from plastic bags.

NR Group, the makers of Cycle Pure Agarbathies has been involved in several major social initiatives in the past and has recently been certified as ‘Carbon Neutral Manufacturer’ by UK-based The Carbon Neutral Company, which is the leading provider of carbon reduction solutions in the world

Cycle Pure Agarbathies will be giving devotees a booklet with essential information about Simhasth Kumbh Mahaparv, prasad boxes, and kumkum along with an eco-friendly bag. This initiative intends to spread the message to save the environment and also help the devotees to understand the significance of the mela.

To spread the message to a larger audience, Cycle Pure Agarbathies has installed life sized (6feet) Akhand Agarbathies in 10 important locations, which would be lit by ‘Pradhan Archaks’ in each pandal. These Akhand Agarbathies are made for special occasions, each agarbathy weighs over 2.5 kgs and burns for over 24 hours. Made from a mixture of several exclusive natural materials, these agarbathies spread pleasant floral aroma in the vicinity.

Little drops make the oceans – keeping this in mind the brand aims to put in its own bit towards a cleaner and greener environment. This month-long Simhasth Kumbh Mahaparv, is expecting a footfall of over five crores.

Mr Arjun Ranga, Managing Director, Cycle Pure Agarbathies, speaking about the initiative said, “We have always been a socially responsible organisation and have taken up several such initiatives in the past and we feel it’s an opportunity for us to contribute our bit towards the environment.”

NR Group through its foundation has always worked towards the development of society. The foundation has a school for the blind- the Ranga Rao Memorial School for the Visually Challenged, Project Prerepana Phase I- rehabilitation of school dropouts from Mysuru slums, Project Unnati- providing scholarships, Tiger Cup cricket tournament- create awareness on saving tiger. Their cottage industry model adopted to make agarbathies has helped empower women in the rural sector by providing them with large scale employment

Through this initiative at Simhasth Kumbh Mahaparv, Cycle Pure Agarbathies hopes to address the most concerning issue today- the increasing usage of plastic bags.
